Terms
Using this site
Waymark Project is an independent, volunteer-run educational project. By using this site you accept these plain-language terms. They do not limit any rights you have under the law.
Not legal, financial or genealogical advice
Everything here is general educational information. It is not legal advice, and the project is not a lawyer, agent or government office. For a legal question about a record, a document or a family matter, ask a qualified professional or the official office that holds the record.
Accuracy
We check each entry as described in the method and publish mistakes in the corrections log. The site is provided as it is. Old sources can be wrong, biased or out of date, and official offices and links change. Please check anything that matters against the official source.
Other websites
We link to government offices, libraries and archives. We do not control them and are not responsible for their content or availability.
Using what is here
Public-domain books may be read and shared freely. Our catalog descriptions may be reused with credit. Please do not use this site in a way that harms others, or to collect personal information about living people.
Rights and takedown requests
We try to publish only works in the public domain in the United States or that we have permission to share, and we keep a record of why each work is included. A work may still be protected somewhere else. If you own rights in something here, or believe we should not have published it, write to archive@areebuzzaman.com with:
- the page and what you are asking us to do;
- who you are and your connection to the work;
- why you believe we should remove or change it.
We will hide the item while we review the request, answer within two weeks, and record the result in the corrections log. Requests about people or family papers are handled the same way, and are also covered on the privacy and takedown page.
Status
Waymark Project is not yet a registered nonprofit and has not applied for tax-exempt status. It does not accept donations.
