Waymark Project

Privacy and takedown

What this site collects, and how to ask us to remove something

Short version: Waymark Project does not collect your name, email, location or reading history, and does not run analytics, ads or accounts. A few third-party services do see ordinary request data, and you should know which.

What we do not do

  • No analytics or tracking scripts, advertising or logins.
  • No forms. Nothing you type on the site is sent to us.
  • No sale or sharing of personal information. We do not have any to share.

What third parties can see

  • Our hosts. Like any web host, they may keep ordinary server logs of requests, such as your IP address and the pages requested.
  • Google Fonts. The page fonts load from Google, which receives your IP address when a page loads.
  • Language menu. If you pick a language other than English, the page text is sent to Google Translate, and a small cookie on this site remembers your choice. Neither happens if you stay in English.
  • Book scans. Hosted PDFs are served from this site. Links to the Internet Archive and Project Gutenberg are governed by their own policies.

If you email us

We use your message only to reply and to fix errors you point out, and we do not share it. Please do not send ID numbers, financial details or scans of identity documents. Messages are not published without permission.

Living people and family papers

Family papers and photos are published only with the family's approval. Material that shows living people is not published without their consent. If you are in anything on this site and want it changed or removed, or you think we published something we should not have, write to archive@areebuzzaman.com with the page and what you want done.

The same route applies to rights and copyright requests. See the terms and disclaimers.

Takedown process

  1. We confirm receipt promptly and, for a request about people or family papers, hide the item while we look into it.
  2. We decide within two weeks, and tell you what we did.
  3. The change is recorded in the corrections log, without personal details.
